Sidetrack : and I do digress

You know, there's this pub along Boatquay that conducts poetry recital occassionally. And I can never get any of my friends to come with me. Shrug. The Literature scene is definitely not as vibrant here compared to that in Manila.

Siew, I kinda like HostRocket's plans.

Random information of the day
T1 = 1.5mbps, T3 = 45mbps
OC3 = 155mbps, OC12 = 622mps.

You know, just when I've started telling people how little problems I have with Blogger, it fails me every 9am to 11am.

I really do want to learn Microsoft Access, but the words are giving me a headache. This tutorial looks comprehensive though.

Ok so I kinda over-reacted. Guess I was just excited about something new. Over-excited. At my age. Gosh.

I guess I am among the lucky few to have received good after sales service. I remember when I sent my Prolink scanner down to FIDA for servicing, they did not give me a difficult time. Even though the warranty period had expired, and they were in the middle of moving their office, they repaired it immediately. Now, that's service.

I like striped socks.

I think every Singaporean should be involved. Geographical location should not interfere with the process of voting.

Have always wanted a Mac. Even the desktop looks better than that of a PC's. Heh. I want the Titanium G4. G3 will do too.

"I don't know why I do this." - How many of us do?
"there's a precarious place in life where: you've gone too far, and you can go further, but if you regress: you're nothing. this is that place." - It's where the shady shadows lie.

Under the influence of him, I almost signed up for a domain with doteasy too. Phew. Hmm to think that I can come up with a domain name that I actually like. Not too bad.

30 Jan : "Now I have 3 letters of recommendation sitting on my desk and I don't know what to do with them."

A fan of Stephanie Sun? Sheryl sure does look like one. Heh.

Eeps! Dailybread is moving to a brand new bakery.

So it said, "Cal is online. Click to chat :)" Followed the instructions and was greeted by "Please wait for a site operator to respond. Site operators are currently busy. Please press 'Close' and try again in a few minutes." And the operators never did become idle again. Oh well nice blue nonetheless.

Sent something to someone, just giving an innocent tip for sending excessive email forwards. Heh.

He popped into my mind when I realised I missed Rough Cuts : An Unrehearsed Interview with Catherine Lim. No idea why, but am bitter.

"Even in a big city you can start to recognise people - people who are simultaneously strange and familiar. Strangely familiar."

Have always wanted to write about these encounters. Even though we only exchanged passing glances...

I give up. The journal.cgi is relentless.

The Blogging StorTroopers Gallery and look at them dance!

Looking through the list of members, there are at least 20 female out of the 22 existing members. Heh. Not that it's wrong, just a dumb observation. I suspect that most cliques are so.

Talking about cliques, am still wondering about the disappearance of x-piphany.com and how does a snail-mail clique sound to you? Heh.

Ok. Now I am beginning to dislike the rose. I'm beginning to dislike almost everything.

Have to remember not to get too satisfied with what I've conjured up in 1 day.

Need a PIM (Personal Information Managers)? Tired of Outlook? Anyday.com feels so much better than Visto.com although the former has no email feature. Now, I need just one...

Wrapped in Afterglow. Enchanting.

Broken, yet the drawings are beautiful. Now where are my crayons? Been looking for it since I first came across sock-fu.

Abstract art. Wonder if that woman is a representation of Siew. Heh.

Bobbie is waving goodbye to shepaintsthesky.org (aka beautiful domain name) and residing at ephemeral.nu.

And I present to you, BEETA.NET!

27 Jan : Am now especially careful on how I spend my holidays, given that I don't have that many to squander.

Her definition of LOVE. Inspiring woman. With a twist of humour. Some combinations are just so lethal.

Can't stop re-reading the horoscope forecast. It got me thinking big time.

A really obscure horoscope reading in the IS Magazine brought me here. Rather true.

Heh just received a confirmation from Roberta. Yes indeed, I know where she will be located in about 24 hours' time.

Thursday, January 25, 2001

Go vote for your favourite (or rather, your favourite among the listed 5) weblogs now.

Farewell Roberta. Think I know where the greener pasture is too. Or maybe it's just a hoax. Heh.

Ever wonder how do you FTP via a capable browser? Answer to this question.

22 Jan : "Synnette? Is that Synnette?" Shocked, I mumbled, "Hello? Do I know you? (pause) May?"

Monday, January 22, 2001

Surreal. Words frighten me sometimes.

Who was responsible for Monroe's death?

Sunday, January 21, 2001

Tom Hanks wins! Castaway looks like a good film. But am not going to watch it.

Purity Tests. Tons of test. Heh. I took the Web Designing Purity Test. I'm 56.9% Web Designing pure (43.1% Web Designing corrupt); that is, I'm 56.9% pure in the Web Designing domain (my strangeness is 43.1%). Eh not too sure what it means, but I'm gonna try more tests. Heh.

President Clinton - Final Days Ad.
I can't believe he actually did that!

"Untitled. It's all about letting go. Find yourself in Art."

Powerful.

It's quiet blue. Very quiet.

What the hell is a WEBLOG?

Uploaded 5 poems.

Have this tendency to write on anything I can lay my hands on - in my mobile, napkins, receipts, and working papers among others. And when I do find them again, months might have passed. Heh.

Indeed, his name is really funny. But I think I almost fell asleep during the movie.

A clique tailored made for Singaporeans. Go Sheryl!

It's orange, Jasmin. However, after staring at it for a long time, it turns into red. Occupational hazard. Heh.

So far, am getting positive feedback about the layout.

Phew.

I suppose most of us will hit this patch some time or another. Med won't leave us for long. Heh.

Eh you won't, right Med?

Think I can probably keep the new layout for a quite a while...

20 Jan : Like a bird who has been kept in a cage all her life, now given a chance to fly into the open sky, the possiblities are overwhelming.

Thursday, January 18, 2001

She has a pretty long list of daily visits... Pretty picture.

Horizontal scrolling! And she ain't too odd..

Four Types of Dreams by Andy. Interesting.
In case you haven't noticed, I'm really into this dreams thing.

For now.

Pei's now a Greymatter user! I thought of using it but am too lazy to think.

I simply don't pay enough attention to details.

Do you remember how this used to look like? 'Cos I don't (even though I visit it like every other day). I like this one though.

If I died yesterday. No matter how many times I read this thing, it still bothers me. His name is Brad.

Yes yes, I'm gonna ignore that thread. Heh. But will still be going to the forum. It can be interesting, at times.

Yea I really did look that. I even held up a photograph to make myself believe it!

She has a StorTrooper too.
"...you told me secrets you never told a soul" - yea it happens a lot.

Wednesday, January 17, 2001

I really did look like that. In early 2000. Gosh, I remember that hair...

I dreamt last night.

Good luck, Alvin.

I apologise for the incessant postings about the forum. For once, I didn't digress much. Heh. Oh well back to business.

'Equality' can be such a scary word - She's really asking for it. I'm waiting for another war to break out.

And yet another round of attack by him. It's too long to be read. Or maybe he doesn't want anyone to read it in the first place?

SpyPen - it's only 12.5cm! Heh. Picture quality ain't too impressive though.

Tuesday, January 16, 2001

Who doesn't want to be good-looking? I adore Sumiko. She's really warm in person.

Think I should spend more time in ST rather than you-know-where.

Stupid me. I need to remember to refresh else I will forever think that she hasn't updated it.

This man is questioning my education and my integrity. I am beginning to feel sympathetic.

Yea it's dumb. Who cares if they start to bash me in a public forum when it is specifically stated that "flaming and personal attacks" will not be tolerated.

Oh dear. I'm trapped in the mindless fight. Should I leave and let them snigger? Hmm.

Ok. I'm done with replying to the silly thread (that got seriously out of hand, wouldn't be surprised if the moderator closes it).

Am not gonna bother myself with them. I have a very low tolerance level for immaturity and outright slandering. They probably gonna think I'm scared. Oh well.

Wow, personal attack! How childishly mature of him.

My technician just gave me an estimate on upgrading my PC system.
It's gonna cost me S$1,200!

It took me 9 mins to upload 4.67mb worth of files!

Top Ten Bill Clinton Future Plans
#7 Every morning check classifieds for job openings under "Presidents"

Haha.

Hmm. When will we ever be able to poke fun at our leader(s)?

15th Jan : ...she is still a frightening reflection, one that I see through a broken mirror...

"I say, you mean that a feminist is not striving for gender equality?" Actually no, a feminist is not fighting for equality. They are fighting against men and for women, traditionally. With the convergence of ideology and definitions, am not too sure what feminists know what they stand for anymore. But I do agree with what you mean by the participants of the chatroom were not at all receptive. And I thought the columnist didn't handle it too well either. It was more like a bashing session.

Nothing was really resolved. Just like everything else in life. No one ever wins in a mindless arguement.

I used to pray that I can understand her a little more. Now, am happy that she's doing so well with Adam.

Very pretty, Elisha.

Maybe if I were to puncture her tyres, she wouldn't be able to leave...

I always do like street lamps.

Ryan Ho is a struggling technopreneur waiting for his big break. He is currently writing for Singapore.CNET.com to earn his next packet of instant noodles. Heh when did he become a technopreneur?! Gee what has NUS done to him?

(This post has nothing to do with the article. Though am in the computer industry, have no idea what he's talking about. It's all about Ryan.)

"..to me marriage is a piece of paper u sign if u want to get discount on HDB flat. marriage doesnt equal love and vice versa. but hey, i'm singaporean...i love discounts"
Laugh factor : 8/10
Pathetic factor: 11/10

"IF THIS IS THE WAY A CYBER DEBATE IS, I'M NOT WASTING MY TIME IN FUTURE."
Thank goodness.

Of course, I have things to say about the female journalist's point of view. But since I'm on her side, gender-ically, am going to leave it as that.

Why is Siew so disgusted? Heh.

You know what's funny? As long as there's discrimination against women, there's going to be discrimination against men too. And she points to examples like custody & alimony issues. And she expresses that "men and women are equal before the law". I disagree. Rather, I think there are better examples than the law. But well, I missed the chat. Stupid meeting.

General rating of the Chat : Hilarious + tinge of immaturity. (I'm not pointing fingers.)

Sorting through my bookmarks and I realise that the only 2 altern sites are no longer around. Pity. (altern.org/helixorbit) (altern.org/endings).

I know it hurts, Kevin. I know.

She makes me think about myself when I was 14. Nothing like that, not at all.

12 Jan : ...Within this place and time, something just ended.

Thursday, January 11, 2001

... We know we have touched someone’s life. After all, they did hang with us and laugh at our jokes. They did think we were good lovers.

Truce. How possible is that? And we have as many shoes as men have with excuses.

Kaite's looking good. I know she will come up with something fabulous. Eh it has been sometime since I left poetess.org. Shrug.

Wednesday, January 10, 2001

Peter's back. And the flash is better than ever.

It has been a l-o-n-g day.

Tuesday, January 09, 2001

And he's gone.

Am having a bad day. Thank goodness Marcus is online to cheer me up.

Love her.

Seriously, think the whole web world loves Zannah. Don't get me wrong, I like her. Though I really like her other sites better.

Argh! Not another one.

The Editor Is A Slacker.

Feel so sorry for the people who were visually attacked by my site...

Can't believe how horrible a.c. looks with 640 X 480.

She moved, to avoid strange people.

They spell it with a single N.

Sunday, January 07, 2001

This is so heart-wrenchingly familiar.

Found a brilliant journal site. But am not going to share it. Not until I'm done reading everything.

the2ndrule. Local e-zine dotted with good pieces of writings.

I hate it when that happens. Service!
Eh why Tivo? Heh try WinTV-PVR!

Deleted 11 mails, including that dumb mail with the attached Snow White virus (I think it is) for the 10,000th time. ICQ is really only useful for this.

Saturday, January 06, 2001

Xiu's going chinese. Heh.

Magdalena's moments.

I found it!

My new darling.

Thursday, January 04, 2001

When was the last time I had a crush on anyone?

Ugly rose. Shrug.

Think I should call this site Eyeball Blog instead.

Bookmark Mania - That's why weblogs are so popular now! Or so I think.

Wednesday, January 03, 2001

Free mobile tones. Icons and logos to follow.

Alvin's take on No Arts Day. Amen.

Eh I was talking on the phone on New Year's Eve.

They make it sound so easy. No wonder my Techician thinks so lowly of webdesigners.

She hasn't updated for a while. Where is she?

Places to go with your story

My old URL. Someone reminded me of it. It's has a fan. A moving fan.

I don't really like Orchard Road the way she does.

Hah. I love the last rule!

Is every-one changing their scroll bars? Have to admit, it does ermm make it look ermm different.

Under the sound advice of Ling, am gonna ask Felicia how she dodged the megabook hackers.

d i s a s s o c i a t e d
This new look is slightly different from the past versions. I like it. Refreshing.

I am obsessed with dreams intepretation lately...
Think am being over-zealous with this blogging thing.

Read.

Spansms is pretty reliable. Mtnsms and smsme do not support Telstra network, Australia. Pity.

SingaporeDesigner.com is 1 year old! Wonder why they are not making a big fuss of it, like I am.

And I quote:
I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in.

Well well. Maybe someone I know is using this technique. Who would have thought?

I too want to draw. I will go buy pencils now.

So I am not the only one who had a great 2000.
